    Nairobi/ Aberdare -Tree Hotel
Depart Nairobi at 8.00 hrs. Drive to Mt. Kenya /Aberdare for a Tree Hotel or lodge which is overlooking a floodlit waterhole frequented by wildlife. Here the animals come to us. You can view the animals from the observation decks, underground bunker or the balcony/windows of your room. A wonderful experience! Aberdare National Park covers just 766km² and has a difficult terrain due to its location in Kenya's central highlands, to the west of Mount Kenya. The volcanic range of the Aberdare Mountains varies from the high moorland at 3000 meters (9842 feet), to the peaks of Kinangop (3906m/12814 feet) and Ol Donyo Lesatima (3999m/13123 feet). Wildlife to be found here include lion, leopard, elephant, East African wild dog, giant forest hog, bushbuck, mountain reedbuck, waterbuck, Cape buffalo, suni, side-striped jackal, eland, duiker, olive baboon, black and white colobus monkey, and sykes monkey. Other sightings may include the African golden cat and the bongo, which is an elusive forest antelope that lives in the bamboo forest. The eland as well as spotted and melanistic serval cats live in the higher moorlands. The Aberdare National Park also has a large eastern black rhinoceros’ population and over 250 species of birds including the endangered Aberdare cisticola, Jackson's francolin, sparry hawk, goshawks, African fish eagles, sunbirds and plovers.
